UNIONCAMERE - the Italian Union of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Crafts and Agriculture - is the public body that represents the Italian Chamber System.

Over the past decade, the reform of the Chambers of Commerce has led to a growing commitment by UNIONCAMERE and the specialized structures of the system (above all DINTEC, born as a consortium with ENEA) on the issues of the relationship between public research products and SMEs, the dissemination of information technologies and the Industry 4.0 Plan in the smallest companies, with the involvement of 12% of those active in Italy by PIDs (see infra), the certification of technology transfer centres, responsible research, of environmental sustainability and Open Innovation for small and medium-sized enterprises, in collaboration with the CNR, ENEA, the COTEC Foundation, AIRI and others.
